Our Funeral Service Partners

How Our Partnerships Work

Muwasat does not provide funeral services directly. We are a financial coordinator. In the Greater Toronto Area, we work with established Islamic funeral providers who are licensed under the Ontario Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002. When a Muwasat member family suffers a loss, our partner delivers the service in accordance with Islamic tradition, and Muwasat pays the partner directly on the family's behalf — up to the $10,000 CAD coverage limit.

Outside the GTA, including covered deaths in the United States, Muwasat reimburses families after they arrange services with their nearest mosque or licensed funeral provider and submit invoices for review. For a death in the United States, the family may choose repatriation to Canada or burial in the United States, subject to the same $10,000 CAD limit.

Outside the Greater Toronto Area

If you are outside the GTA, please connect with the nearest mosque or licensed Islamic funeral provider in the event of a loss, and contact Muwasat by phone at the same time. We will guide you through the invoice submission and reimbursement process. Reimbursement covers approved invoices up to the $10,000 CAD coverage limit and is issued in Canadian dollars.
